Preparing This Advent Season

Week of November 23

Join us as we actively await the coming of Jesus by following along as we learn, pray and serve this Advent Season. You'll receive an email each week that will provide you with ideas and activities on how to prepare yourselves to welcome Jesus at Christmas.

Watch this short video to learn more about how you can make Advent a time of preparation in your home this year.

Pray

Bless your Advent wreath as a family!

  • Lighting the candles on an Advent wreath every day at mealtime is a great way to live the season of Advent as a family. Why not take a little time on the First Sunday of Advent to bless the Advent wreath as you enter into this season filled with anticipation?!
  • For those of you with the Magnificat Advent Companion, check out the 'Blessing of an Advent Wreath' on page 12. If you don't have the 'Magnificat Advent Companion' (or already lost it!), check out this link with a similar Advent wreath blessing.
  • What is the meaning of an Advent wreath? BONUS: Learn how to make one as a family!  Check out this video from 'Catholic All Year' to learn a bit more about why we have Advent wreaths and how you can make a pretty simple one with your family!

Donate a Gift Card to a Family in Need.

  • Due to Covid-19, St. Vincent de Paul is only collecting and distributing gift cards for this year’s Little Drummer Giving Tree Program. This will ensure the safety of both their volunteers and the people they serve. Please consider donating a $10 or $25 gift card to Target, Wal-Mart, Burlington or Amazon for this cause. Gift cards can be purchased through our scrip program after weekend Masses or from the Parish Office.
  • Deadline: Monday, November 30th
