Dear friends, for reasons that are far beyond me I was recently asked by the Catholic Diocese of Madison Foundation (CDMF) to be in a baking competition against 3 other priests from the diocese (Fr. Steve Brunner, Fr. Lawrence Oparaji, and Fr. Garrett Kau).
We were tasked with baking a loaf of "Sally Lunn" bread and then some other delectable delight of our own choosing; I chose to make a raspberry lemon cake. The winner will receive $1,000 to donate to a charity or charities of his choice (I've chosen the Women's Care Center and St. Vincent de Paul).
Although I’m holding my own against the competition when it comes to sheer baking talent, I've learned that apparently you can buy your way to victory - or rather, others can buy it for you! What do I mean? Well, for a $10 donation (to help fund various ministries across the Diocese of Madison) you can "vote" for me and each vote counts as an extra point to determine the winner. Currently, even though I’m doing quite well from the actual baking portion of the competition I am losing big to Fr. Lawrence simply because he has more donors in his corner (atoning for his lack of skills). So, might I humbly ask you to make a small donation to help me? I want to teach all of the other priests that there's more to baking than the amount of "dough" one has!

Thanks and God bless!
