A Note from the Pastor

Dear friends,

“Christus Resurréxit! Resurréxit Vere!”

“Christ is risen! He is risen, indeed!”

This is a traditional Christian greeting that is used throughout the Easter season, and with it I want to wish each of you a very blessed and happy Easter! May the Risen Lord Jesus bless you and your loved ones as we celebrate this most glorious feast and enter into the joy of the Easter season (which lasts for 50 days, until Pentecost, so keep eating that Easter candy!).

I would like to share with you some encouraging words from an Easter homily delivered by Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI twelve years ago:

“The Easter [message] spreads throughout the world with the joyful song of the Alleluia. Let us sing it with our lips, and let us sing it above all with our hearts and our lives, with a manner of life that is ‘unleavened’, that is to say, simple, humble, and fruitful in good works. ‘Surrexit Christus spes mea: praecedet vos in Galileam’ – ‘Christ [our] hope is risen, and he goes before you into Galilee.’ The Risen One goes before us and he accompanies us along the paths of the world. He is our hope, He is the true peace of the world. Amen!”

May the Risen Lord Jesus fill your hearts anew this Easter with His hope and peace! And, may you continue to seek after Him with all that you have and are!

God bless!

Fr. Scott
